Hi Val, The video gaming topic is one that also interests me since my topic is learner engagement and we all know how video gaming is engaging to learners.
I think it’s hard to give constructive advice on a storyboard since it is really just an outline and I know that the actual presentation will have more information. But, I will give it a shot.
• It looks like you have some very good research articles to support your statement of need. • Please be sure to give a good explanation of the Orion Teaching Model. A video clip could be a good way to show it since we are not supposed to have our slides be too wordy. • I might suggest that you more specifically address the context of gaming in distance learning in your title. My immediate reaction when I read your title was wondering if you were talking about gaming in a regular classroom or an online environment. Maybe a title such as: Video game technology to enhance math instruction in an online classroom. • I am struggling with the kind video footage that I could shoot myself since I believe I read that we should create 50% of the media (but I do not see that written in the rubric). What are your plans? • Do you plan to say who the keynote speaker who you are introducing is?
I look forward to seeing your final project! Cathy
